Mapping a network drive
Many machines come with a batch script placed on the desktop called "Map_my_drives". If you are still missing drives after running that, see below.
- In a File Explorer window, right-click "This PC" and select "Map network drive"
- Select a drive letter. It doesn't really matter which, though certain network locations are customarily matched to specified letters.
- Type the address of the drive where it says "Folder". To find this information easily, you can look at the name of the drive on a computer on which it's already mapped. Some of the most common ones are also listed below.
- Check the "Reconnect at sign-in" checkbox.
- Click "Finish"
Common Drive Addresses:
- Overnights: \\katu-nas-1\Arianna\Overnights
- Import to Avid: \\katu-nas-2\ImportToAvid
- Design: \\katu-nas-2\Design
- Promo Drop Location for Omneon: \\katu-nas-2\news_promo_to_omneon
- production: \\katu-nas-1\production
