Mapping a network Printer

Solution WINDOWS 10

Press the Windows key + R to open a Run window.

Type "control printers," and click "OK."

Click "Add a printer."

The printer you want won't be listed. Click "the printer that I want wasn't listed."

Select the option for "Select a shared printer by name."

Type "\\katu-services\" a drop down list should pop up with the available printer. Find the one you are after, the names aren't too terrible to decipher, click on it.

A box will probably pop up telling you it is installing drivers.

When that is done it will say you have successfully added "-whichever printer you picked- on katu-services"

Click "next."

Click "finish."

OPTIONAL:
By default, Windows 10 will manage your default printer based on the one you used most recently. If you regularly use multiple printers, this may prove to be a detriment. You can follow the steps below to disable this feature.

Press the Windows key + I to open the "Settings" menu.

Click "Devices."

Go to the "Printers & Scanners" section.

Uncheck "Let Windows manage my default printer."

Select the printer you want as your default, and click "Manage."

Under "Manage your device," click "Set as default."
